Java Language in Indonesia

Java language is the language used ethnicity resident in the Java Central Java, Yogyakarta and East Java. In addition, the Java language is also used by people who live in some other areas such as Banten (especially Serang, Cilegon and Tangerang) and West Java (especially the northern coastal region that includes Karawang, Subang, Indramayu and Cirebon).
Among the approximately 746 regional languages in Indonesia, Java occupies the highest position as the most widely used language. It is quite reasonable because the population of Java spelled out very much and dominate. In fact, Java language used in some countries out there as a medium of communication. One of them is Suriname that in fact the population is Javanese people exiled by the Dutch.

The causes for Javanese that in addition to the expansion of the use of Indonesian, found it does not necessarily remove the mother tongue or regional language. Regional languages of origin is still used by the speakers of the Java language to communicate with the community that one area and one language. It reflects various regions and languages since the first of the Indonesian people, but by doing so also would have negative effects, one negative effect is when people are accustomed to using the language of each region, so when using the Indonesian standard, many errors in pronunciation of words that exist in Indonesian itself, it all happened because it is not accustomed to using the Indonesian language when in his neighborhood everyday. However, with this happening, there remains a positive effect. Namely, Indonesia still has the character that comes from the wisdom of their respective regions. Just as the local language, the native speakers keep him, because that is where there is the identity and character of a community. Although there is no doubt that the changes will always be associated with human nature as being dynamic.
The present state of Java language is in serious condition now. For example adolescents in various regions in East Java, especially in urban areas, is now rarely wears the Java language to communicate with peers. In small towns like Tuban and Lamongan, many teens use Indonesian language than Java, especially in big cities such as Surabaya, Malang and so forth. In Surabaya, when we were in college, no longer surprised when we heard a lot of students talk with Indonesian rather than the Java language. Among them, the Java language Krama Inggil or krama halus, and Java ngoko language too is rarely used. They tend to use Indonesian. In fact, not infrequently also mixed with English. For example “thanks”,” please”, and others.
In conclusion, language has and governed by a system, not a scattered without rules. Language is a symbol system, sound system, has a meaning, conventional, productive, unique, universal, variable and means of identifying themselves. Java language has big influence on the Java community. Particularly in the use and speak Indonesian well and correctly. One negative impact is when people who are accustomed to using the Java language, so when using the Indonesian standard, many mistakes in pronunciation of words that exist in Indonesian itself. While the positive impact of Indonesia still has the character that comes from the wisdom of their respective regions. Just as the Java language, the native speakers keep him, because that is where there is the identity and character of a community. Although Java language is language which is known at number 11 in the world, we as Indonesian should always preserve this language to maintain the diversity of languages in Indonesia.
